A few different routes to get up to Desolation Sound. Sounder, Cajun Queen & Diamond Girl chose to go via Jedediah Island. Here are some pictures of our route.
Others took the Sunshine Coast up and we all met at Lund, the gateway to Desolation Sound.
Grace Harbour was our first major stop. We had nine boats anchored, rafted and stern tied in this pristine harbour. Sixteen other boats shared the harbour, this is a popular time of year for cruising. Our first pot-luck dinner was held on Sounder & Cajun Queen and we all opted to stay a few days and explore from this harbour. On our last day, we took two boats and two dinghies up Okeover Inlet to the Laughing Oyster restaurant for lunch. A great view as you can see and good food too!
The following day (Friday) saw us all off to Refuge Cove on the Redondas for supplies and more importantly, a hot shower! Saturday morning in Refuge Cove with one of Jenny 's famous champagne brunches.
Kerry & I were in Desolation Sound a few years back in our 19' Bayliner, you can read about it here...Part One & Part Two!
