We had an incredible turnout of 11 boats for this Lighted Boat Parade held on the evening of December 15th, 2007. The weather gods kindly held off the predicted SE gale force winds until the parade was over. What a way to finish off a great year of cruising. Feedback I have had has been great. It seems the locals would have turned out in greater numbers had they known what was in store for them. For the year 2008, I propose that we do more advertising amongst the general Gabriola community. Thanks to Jordan for putting a notice for two weeks in the Sounder. Lenora also advertised the event and was very impressed with the way things went. She is challenging all three marinas to get their local boats lit up at the dock for next December and will also advertise the Lighted Boat Parade.
