The Silva Bay Yacht Club provides a venue for marine related activities. There are many events throughout the year, ashore and afloat, with emphasis on safety and fun. Expand your horizons and learn from others while out on the water. The Club has a large number of very experienced and qualified mariners who are willing to share their knowledge.
To become a member, there is a $75.00 initiation fee plus $55.00 annual dues to be remitted with this form. The payment entitles you and your spouse to full membership and includes dependent family members. You will receive a Club burgee, name tags and an information kit in the mail.
If you wish, you may include a voluntary $10.00 donation to “Marine Parks Forever”. This is a non profit organization that secures and maintains provincial marine parks.
Replacement burgees cost $20.00 each. Please take good care of them.

Do I need a yacht to join?
No, there is no requirement for members to own a yacht or even a boat and if you have a boat, size doesn't matter. An interest in boating is sufficient and there are many activities in the club for non-boaters.
If we don't have a boat, can we still go boating?
Yes, day cruises are planned and our Fleet Captain can help you find a spot on a members boat for sample cruising.
Can I learn more about boating?
Yes, our meetings have frequent guests who have cruised not only the Pacific Northwest but the world and they share their cruising adventures with us.
As a member, if you show your card to most marine supply stores, you will receive a 10% discount especially at the Harbour Chandler in Nanaimo.
On Gabriola, the Village Hardware Store will give you a 15% discount on all "marine" related items as well as any paints or paint sundries. You need only show your valid membership card.
Did you know that as a member, you will receive a fuel discount at the gas docks in Silva Bay (seaplane dock). Note: minimum 100L purchase.
As a member you can proudly fly your burgee and receive reciprocal moorage throughout the Gulf Islands, Vancouver and the San Juans.
Don't forget, as a member, you also get a spiffy name badge, so everyone will know your name!
Join the club, as a member, you share boating experiences. We have 115 family memberships to date and we continue to grow.
